Wedding Planning FAQs

WHICH VENUE SPACES ARE AVAILABLE FOR CIVIL CEREMONIES?

We are able to host Civil Ceremonies in our Drawing Room, Parlour and Great Hall. With ample space and character, the venue allows you to celebrate your special day under one roof.

WILL THERE BE OTHER WEDDINGS OR EVENTS IN THE VENUE ON OUR BIG DAY?

No, the venue will be exclusively yours!

ARE WE ALLOWED SPARKLERS?

Yes! Get creative in our Courtyard with sparklers. We will need to discuss this with you ahead of your wedding day so please disclose your intentions to the team. Fireworks are not permitted given our City location.

ARE WE ALLOWED HELIUM BALLOONS?

Yes! As long as the balloons are not attached to the building or would damage the fabric of the building we are happy for you to have helium balloons.

WHAT ARE YOUR RULES ON CONFETTI?

All Confetti is to be natural confetti and this can only be used in our Courtyard. Do ask the Events Team for more information.

CAN WE GET READY AT THE VENUE?

Yes we have a number of rooms suitable to get ready in. We have mirrors and clothes rails and can set up tables for hair & make-up. We can also provide refreshments for the Bridal party / Groomsmen.

DO YOU HAVE ANY MUSIC FACILITIES?

We have a beautiful organ in the Great Hall and a Grand Piano in the Drawing Room that you are welcome to incorporate into your day, provided they are played by an approved musician. We also have an in-house speaker system that can play background music in the Great Hall, Cloisters, Courtyard and Parlour. We can recommend a supplier for bands, classical music and DJs.

WILL WE HAVE OUR OWN WEDDING CO-ORDINATOR?

You will be assigned a venue coordinator as soon as you book your special day with us, they will be on hand to help every step of the way.

DO WE NEED TO HIRE TABLES, CHAIRS, LINENS, PLATES AND GLASSES?

We are able to offer these included within our venue hire, if you would like bespoke options please speak to a member of the team for more details.

ARE YOU FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR MENUS?

Absolutely, if you are look for something specific, we can work with our chefs to create your ideal dishes.

DO YOU WELCOME CHILDREN?

Yes, children are welcome within the venue.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE BOOK THE OUTSIDE SPACE AND IT RAINS?

We recommend a wet weather plan is in place using one of our beautiful indoor spaces.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?

Decorations – You are welcome to make the space your own and decorate how you like, we require all decoration to be disclosed to us in advance in order to ensure we are protecting the fabric of the building.

Candles – Candles are allowed as long as they are contained in holders or lanterns. We also recommend gutter glasses to be used on candelabras.

Red wine – Red wine is allowed within all of our venue spaces, including the Courtyard

Smoking – Smoking is not permitted inside the building, however there is a designated smoking area in the Courtyard.

CAN YOU OFFER US A MENU TASTING AND WILL THIS INCLUDE WINE?

Yes we will invite you in to sample the menu and wines included within your package, this is complimentary for bookings spending over £10,000 +VAT.
